The Paisley Silk Shiraz is bottled unfiltered. The wine was bottled at twelve months of age to keep the vibrancy of fruit and enhance the attractive youthful character of the wine.
The color is deep purple/red. The aromas are lifted and intense with mulberry fruit, some spicy French oak, and roasted hazelnuts. The medium-bodied palate has a very bright, upfront plum, with hints of roasted meats and nutty complexity from the French oak. The palate is supple, full-flavored, and balanced by clean acidity and chalky tannins. The wine finishes long with a mix of blackberry, choc mint, and a fine line of tannin. It drinks well now but has medium-term aging potential and will continue to improve with careful cellaring for the next seven to ten years.
